A delicious bowl to boost mood, nourish your nervous system,
packed full of antioxidants and your gut will love you for feeding it so well.
Beetroot, Berry & Acai Smoothie Bowl
Serves - 1 large Smoothie bowl
1 organic beetroot – scrubbed & cut into chunks
1 – 2 frozen bananas depending on how thick you like your smoothie bowl
A large handful of blueberries (we like to use frozen ones)
Juice of 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon
1 cm thick slice of fresh ginger (we keep this ready chopped in the freezer)
2 x dessertspoons of coconut yogurt, from The Coconut Collaborative
1 heaped teaspoon of acai powder from Indigo Herbs
Then blend together, depending on the power of your blender you may need to add a splash of nut milk – we both use a nutribullet.
We’ve used our cacao granola, more berries and a good spoonful of coconut yoghurt.
Frozen banana tip,
We always keep a large freezer bag full of sliced frozen bananas. They are so useful for making smoothie bowls, chilled smoothies, nice cream and smoothie lollies for our children.
