CHOCOLATE APPLES

Our deliciously healthy twist on the traditional toffee apple.

In the Clean Supper Club kitchen we wanted to create a fun, quick child and family friendly treat to enjoy this bonfire night - well we think they can be eaten any time you like!
Here's how to make our Chocolate Apples...

To make 6 yummy apples

Equipment
6 wooden lolly sticks
1 small pan
baking paper
bowls to put toppings in

Ingredients
For the chocolate coating
6 Apples, we've used a mix of organic varieties
6 tbsp of coconut oil
6 tbsp of  raw cacao powder
3 tbsp of grade A maple syrup

For the toppings
we chose...
Clean Supper Club granola
Freeze dried raspberries
desiccated coconut

Method

1. Insert a lolly stick firmly into the top of each apple.
2. In the pan gently melt the coconut oil and stir in the raw cacao powder, once the coconut oil is melted add the maple syrup and stir in. Once combined, remove from the heat.
3. Cover a plate with a sheet of baking paper.
4. Holding the apple by the lolly stick, use a spoon and pour the chocolate mix over the bottom three quarters of the apple, making sure it is fully covered.
5. Then scatter your choice of topping over the chocolate and place the base of the apple on the baking paper.
6. Repeat this process for all the apples, then place the plate of apples in the fridge for at least 1 hour or until you are going to eat them.
