You are going to get fed up of us repeating this but it really has been another busy week, which has included more random firsts for Clean Supper Club. We’ve juggled a routine hospital check up in Birmingham, all is going very well and the person concerned is in prime fitness for the British Transplant Games - this year in Liverpool in July! A fantastic event for everyone involved and raises awareness of the importance of being an organ donor – keep your eyes peeled.
What else this week… in between looking after two poorly children (nasty flipping virus!), a gorgeous garden design (almost completed on site), seeing family, sports days and we have been super busy in the Clean Supper Club kitchen and in a park! We could now do with a relaxing evening to ourselves, or a trip to see the new Ab Fab film but as it’s Sunday we presume the evening will involve the ironing??
We've added more delicious recipes to the Clean Supper Club website - our guilt free Chocolate Torte (as part of the Kilner Summer picnic campaign, which we’ve been told may be heading State side soon) & a trio of N'ice Creams made using some of the fab ingredients from the lovely Indigo Herbs range. Both recipes are perfect summer desserts.
We have to say the Chocolate Torte is sublime and we were delighted to see a fellow Instagram friend re-making this recipe and reposting it - we love it when that happens. The Chocolate Torte is dairy free, refined sugar free and full of super foods to make you feel amazing (the power of dessert).
The N’ice Creams are delightful – really creamy and refreshing. There’s a strawberry, a coconut cream and a stunning avocado and mint. These recipes are really simple – go and give them a taste test!
You may have noticed we have been using Lucuma powder in our recipes. Lucuma has long been renowned in South America for its anti-aging properties, it has high levels of fatty acids in the plant that greatly increase tissue regeneration. We use it in smoothies, porridge and desserts. It has a fabulous caramely sweetening flavour. So if you’d like to try it Clean Supper Club and Indigo Herbs will be launching a competition this week for you to win a packet to try. Watch our social media sites!
Now don't laugh but we think we have figured out Snapchat (ha ha!) - so please give us a follow for some entertaining foodie adventures. You’ll find us at - Clean Supper Club.
Finally and most unexpectedly we had our very own Clean Supper Club smoothie stand at a local village park opening!!! The best bit for us was seeing so many kids (more than adults) coming & asking for smoothies – just brilliant!! It was allot of fun – we were next to the candy floss stand which made us chuckle. At least we didn’t end up as sticky and feeling as sick as our slightly pink friends – the added wind made their sugar clouds more of a hair fixative.
They hadn't penned us in it was the generator (honest!)
Our Week in Breakfasts - We've enjoyed refreshing, earthy and chocolatey smoothies and when we've had a bit more time at the weekend - whipped up avocado on toast with eggs, spinach and scrambled eggs.
Our Week in Food - Gorgeous flavours, simple suppers, salads & a couple of guilt free desserts has been our focus this week. We had a surprise delivery from Livia's Kitchen & Meridian Foods – yummy millionaire short bread treats & meridian nut butters. We can't wait to try the pecan and macadamia nut butters - yum!
Look out for more inspiring, delicious and healthy recipes on our website this week - we'll let you know as soon as they appear.
