Our Week in Food, Breakfast and a Smoothie Workshop… Clean Supper Club
Our Week in Breakfast
How are you all? Have you escaped the country for a break yet? Has everyone’s children finished for the summer holidays?
Our mob has, so it’s been an emotional week of farewells to fabulous teachers who are moving on to pastures new. As parents we’ll miss them as they’ve cherished and nurtured our children and the children are heart broken – when you are 4,5 & 6 years old a teacher leaving after a year of fun lessons is devastating. There have been lots of tears balanced with some very funny moments; particularly when the whole of year 1 had learnt a specially written good luck song, created a dance routine and performed it to their gorgeous teacher who, bless her, lost it repeatedly. We were all exhausted by Thursday afternoon when the school finally broke up!
A garden scheme I’ve (Claire) been working on is almost complete, just he planting to purchase and get in this week – it’s looking fantastic. I’m delighted – hoping I’ll be allowed to go back and visit it as it matures.
In amongst all the end of term (have you got your PE kit and a thousand creations you’ve made this year coming home) we’d had an invite to meet with Jenny from Altrincham Market House – which in case you hadn’t gathered is one of our favourite places to go and eat. We weren’t entirely sure exactly what it was about; so we’d gone with an open mind and it’s just as well we did! So on Tuesday the 26th of July between 11 & 12 o’clock in the market at Altrincham - we are hoping some of you will be joining us for our first fun Summer Smoothie Workshop! We are planning lots of exciting flavour combinations and the children will create their own mixes of fruits and vegetable’s. We’ll show you all the fun ways of enjoying smoothies and you’ll soon realise why we (and our families) are addicted to this delicious and nutritious way of making sure we get our 7 a day!
If you or you and your family would like to take part, tickets are available from the Market House coffee shop or contact us by email - firstname.lastname@example.org - and we can reserve you tickets to purchase on the day. We'd love you to come and join us and our cheeky children- we hope to see you there! All ages’ welcome - can under 12yrs please bring a friendly adult. Tickets are £8s for 1 child & 1 adult, £15s for 2 children & 1 adult & additional smoothie drinkers will be £6s. Altrincham Market Market Street, Altrincham, WA14 1SA All children will leave with their own smoothie, personalised smoothie recipe & a few extras.
Our Week in Food
Thanks to the lovely team at Indigo Herbs this week we received a waffle machine! We’ve not had one before or ever made waffles but OMG we’ve not stopped making them this weekend! Totally delicious and the recipe will be appearing on Indigo Herbs & our recipe pages very soon. Its refined sugar, wheat and dairy free but completely scrummy.
It’s also national milk chocolate day this week so watch out for a Clean Supper Club smoothie we’ll be creating for Nutribullet that goes a little OTT this week!
It is also an exciting week for Sarah's eldest Luca who will be taking part in the British Transplant Games - Luca attends every year and has an impressive selection of medals! We are all excited because this year it's in Liverpool and we can all go and cheer him on - we can't wait! If you are around Liverpool between Friday the 29th to the 31st of July do go and support all the participants, it's a free event to view. So good luck Luca we know you'll enjoy every minute. I also know how incredibly proud this young man makes his devoted parents and brother. It's an emotional journey they have all been on and one that is never far from the fore front of their minds (Big hugs).
Right better crack on!
Have a great week, I'm sure there is some thing I've missed but if it pops back in to my jelly brain will add it in!
