Our Week in Breakfast - Smoothies, Smoothie Bowls, Bircher
It’s been a funny week. The children have returned to school after the spring holidays, where we’d just adjusted to a lovely routine and had really enjoyed our selves. So we are missing their crazy sense of humours and big cheeky grins.
We’ve been doing that fatal activity of trying to catch up on everything we’d not been able to do during the holidays – you know write a very long list, that’s totally unachievable and then become frustrated when you’ve not achieved a 1/3rd of it!
Still to keep ourselves sustained through our frustration we’ve eaten well, experimented with gorgeously healthy smoothie lollies (keep your eyes peeled for our recipe combinations for these in a blog post coming soon), finally managed to get our scrumptious flapjack recipe into the Cakes & Bakes section of our Clean Supper Club website and discovered a fabulous choc chip cookie mix that we’ll sadly have to test a few more times before we inflict it upon you all! You can see these in our Our Week in Food pic.
Sarah sneaked a birthday in midweek – we have decided to no longer count how old we are (forever 23?).
Our week in breakfast images show, some spectacular breakfast options, super healthy smoothies & smoothie bowls – we’ve been reacquainting ourselves with the health benefits of extra virgin olive oil, to the point where it’s now going into our smoothies! Did you know that all fats go unfiltered through your heart? Not being of a scientific/biology background neither did we! So our smoothies are turning slightly Mediterranean in style. It’s a great addition you must try it, works with any flavour combination. Oh and don’t forget the ease of overnight oats, also known as a bircher. Super simple, super powered and very versatile.
This week, well we are going to try to become more organised! It’s time to dedicate a few days a week to our growing Clean Supper Club. So wish us luck and lets see where this takes us.
