Hot CacaoOlate


This picture shows 2 of our favourite warming drinks for chilly days & those winters evenings.
Both are simple to prepare & completely satisfying and a perfect healthy twist on a traditional drinks recipe.

This recipe is for our HOT CACAOOLATE.
Made with unsweetened nut milk that will help your body absorb all the imporatant vitamins and minerals in the raw cacao powder.

Cacao is cocoa before it is roasted, it is known to boost mood, be full of magnesium & is completely delicious!
Where to buy Cacao powder…
​ It's becoming easier to buy all the time. But there are good ones and average ones. We love Indigo Herbs raw cacao powder.
Nut milk wise we use unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk as it is naturally sweet tasting.
Our recipe is simple…

Ingredients
A mug of unsweetened nut milk per person
1 to 2 tbsp of raw cacao powder per person

​For tasty additions try one or 2 of these…
A Cardamom pod
1/4 tsp of raw cinnamon powder
1 tsp of honey


Simply pour your nut milk of choice into your favourite mug, then tip this into a small pan.

Gently warm the nut milk & add 1 to 2 tbsp of raw cacao powder (depending on how much of a chocolate fix you require). We use a small whisk to mix it together.
Once it is warm enough pour back into your mug.

For a delicious twist add a cardamom pod or a 1/4 tsp of raw cinnamon powder when you pop in the cacao powder.
If you are adjusting your sweet tooth, add a small tsp of honey or rice malt syrup.
